TREEGATOR® JUNIOR
Step-by-step filling instructions
Place Around Tree Trunk...
Step 1:
• Use on any tree/shrub with branches beginning at least 6" off the ground or higher
Place bag on flat ground, or on top of a properly built mulch cup
> Clear all sharp objects from area to be watered
> For best results, use on level surface with mulch
Wrap both side around the trunk with center hole around trunk base
> For use on trees up to 4" in diameter/caliper

Fill It, And Walk Away!
Step 2:
Pop open the red fill valve cap and insert water hose
> Recommended for use with standard sized garden hose
Turn on water supply and begin filling with water.
> Use clean water - If necessary, filter water through cotton cloth on hose end
• After bag is at least 1/2 full, add premixed water soluble fertilizer, if desired.
> To prevent clogging, premix fertilizer in separate container
To fill bag completely, gently lift on fill valve while filling.
> To prevent water spillage, keep fill valve elevated when closing cap

Fill It, And Walk Away!
Step 3:
Fill to desired level and let drip until empty
> Maximum capacity approximately 14 gallons of water
> Drip time of approximately 4 to 8 hours
For newly planted trees, start with an initial fill schedule of 1 to 2 times per week

How much water does a newly planted tree require per week?

For newly planted trees, the Univ. of Georgia College of Agriculture and Environmental
Sciences Cooperative Extension Service recommends using this formula:

> Two (2) gallons of water per foot of tree height weekly.
This means that if you plant a 15 foot tall tree, you should
water it with 30 gallons of water per week.

• For 14 gal. Treegator® Junior applications, this translates
into a fill schedule of twice per week.

Note: Proper watering frequency can vary depending on several factors (tree and soil type, weather, etc.)
This recommendation will not guarantee that your tree is being watered properly - Use it only as a guide.
Consult a local gardening or tree care professional for more information on proper watering practices for
your particular tree type and region.

Recommended for use on flat surface or properly built mulch cup

The Proper Mulch CupThe placement of the two removable PVC emitters on the underside of each 14 gal. Treegator® Junior will ensure an even, steady drip rate provided that the bag is resting on a flat surface, or properly built mulch cup.

Please make sure that the mulch is either "cup-shaped" or flat. If the mulch around the trunk is "mound-shaped", the bag may not empty completely, and some water run-off may occur.
